Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain Veneers are thin shells of ceramic which are crafted to the desired shape and size and bonded to the front of your teeth. This method has minimal disruption to the teeth. They improve the appearance of gaps, discolouration, cracks and misalignment. Veneers can improve the appearance of the teeth in a similar way as the effect false finger nails provide to the nails.
Crowns
Crowns allow our Dentist to repair heavily filled or badly fractured teeth. The crown will restore strength, size, shape and appearance back in the tooth. The dentist will prepare the tooth to the correct shape to accept the crown. The crown constructed then protects the remaining tooth structure, ensuring the shape is consistent with your surrounding teeth. Contacts with adjacent and opposing teeth are harmonised to make the crown feel like one of your own teeth.
Dentures
NHS and private dentures are provided at the practice. Private dentures give the option of or a more specialised denture. The aimed end product of all dentures will be a natural appearance and in the case of partial dentures consistent with the surrounding teeth. Treatment depends on each individual case, however generally to make a denture from start to finish will take approximately four appointments. Further information can be obtained from the dentist advising what denture will be best for you.
Bridges
Missing teeth result in large gaps that may best be corrected with a bridge. They are a long term solution that will improve the appearance of your smile and also prevent other teeth from moving out of place. Having the space filled with a bridge will help speech and chewing food. The outcome of bridgework is a natural appearance with strong, stable teeth which function as a competent substitute to the original tooth. Bridges are commonly used to replace one or more missing teeth.
Implants
Unfortunately millions of people endure difficulties relating to missing teeth which can affect self-confidence, speech and eating. In most cases these problems could have been prevented. However, Dental Implants are a long term solution to missing teeth, alleviating difficulties that dentures entail. A dental implant is an artificial tooth root made from titanium which is then placed into the jawbone. Implants can also preserve the bone. Following the appropriate healing period with the implant fused to the bone the dentist can start restoring the new tooth with a crown or bridge work. Alternatively two or more implants can be used to hold a denture in tightly to improve natural functions. When the crown or bridge is placed they will resemble the original tooth purpose. Dental implants have been around for 20 years and have 95 % success rate.
Inlays
Inlays are made from porcelain which is durable and natural restorations to the tooth over two separate stages. This procedure is less disruptive as it preserves a greater amount of the original tooth, therefore keeping adaptation treatment to a minimum. They appear similar to white fillings, however each is custom made by a specialist laboratory.
Teeth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a fantastic way to help your teeth look brighter and make you feel more youthful and confident. It is a simple yet highly effective way of restoring the natural colour of your teeth without removing any of the tooth surfaces. We use the deep whitening technique which produces the most consistent results. The gel is placed in custom made trays which are worn for approximately an hour per night for two weeks. The difference can be quite considerable.
Fillers
A non surgical procedure that will soften wrinkle and provide fresher looking skin using small injections, this treatment will last between 6 – 12 months, although results may vary depending on the individual. Fillers are used around the mouth, cheeks and brow. Dermal fillers are safe effective and long lasting with repeated treatments, whilst being easy to apply and gentle on the skin. Topical and local anaesthetics can be used to make the procedure as comfortable as possible.
Restylane is also a non surgical treatment which will act against premature ageing and wrinkling of the skin, lasting up to 4 – 6 months after each visit. Restylane is used to redefine lips that have lost their body, to enlarge them or to simply make them fuller. The Restylane gel is based on a natural substance, thus providing a safe and successful anti- wrinkle treatment which is becoming increasingly popular.
