Dental Implant with Bone Graft: Case Study

This 60 year old lady first came to Tweedsmuir Dental Care in Cardonald in the Summer of 2017.
She had a crown on a tooth on the upper left side of her mouth that had failed and was not suitable for a replacement crown.

Before dental implant

She was keen to avoid having a gap in her smile and the space would not be suitable for a bridge. She has looked after her teeth and values her smile.

She had the root removed in Aug 2017, and we arranged for her to have a sectional CT scan to see how the space had healed and how much bone was available in Oct 2017.

We noted that there was not enough bone and she would need a graft so this was done in Feb 2018. This was very successful.

Her implant was placed in Aug 2018, she had some whitening treatment carried out and the implant was restored with a crown in Feb 2019.

After dental implant

She is very happy with the result. She no longer has a gap and is happy with her smile again.
